The German IFO Business Climate Index fell on Tuesday morning from two points to -20.8 points, its lowest historical levels since the Index was initiated in 1991.
The IFO did however say that the poll was taken in mid-March, and thus does not show the full circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic outbreak on the market. With 103 000 people testing positive for the virus, Germany currently has the fourth highest number of infections in the world.
