Jyrki Katainen, Vice President of the European Commission, made the following statement:
- If the United States gave a tariff exemption for Britain, it would apply to the EU as a whole.
- We are trying to convince the United States that imposing new tariffs on steel is not a good idea.
- The result of steel tariffs in the past has led to loss thousands and thousands of jobs in the United States.
