US protectionist policies will foment global trade frictions

China's unilateral and protectionist policies will eventually escalate global trade disputes and may hinder the pace of global economic recovery, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a report summarizing China's foreign trade situation that China is not deliberately seeking a trade surplus while calling the United States for resolving trade disputes.

It also said that the good fundamentals of China's foreign trade remain unchanged in the long term but faces problems including rising costs.
