The US non-farm private sector added 241,000 jobs in March, beating markets expectations of only 208,000 jobs. While the February reading was revised up from 235 thousand to 246 thousand jobs.

The data comes ahead of Friday data, as the non-farm payrolls report will be released for both the government and private sectors.

Following the data, the US dollar rose slightly, but soon retreated under pressure as trade tensions between China and the United States intensified. The dollar index is currently trading at 89.70.
