Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Monday passed legislation to tackle the immigration program so, he could attract as many Democrats as possible to vote for the spending bill and called Monday for a vote to reopen the US government after it entered its third day of closure.

He also expressed his call to retreat from the edge of the abyss and stop hurting the American people and returning to work.

Yesterday, legislators failed to negotiate an end to the government closure to continue its closure, which began last Saturday after the Senate failed to reach agreement on short-term financing.

US President Donald Trump also called on Twitter to use a majority vote of 51 percent or vote on a long-term budget if Democrats persisted.
