The UK economy grew less than expected during the last quarter of 2017, as GDP growth slowed to 0.4% quarterly against expectations of a 0.5% growth, while the economy grew by 1.4% on yearly basis.
The economy grew in 2017 by 1.7%, the lowest since 2012. This is still stronger than economists fear that economy will reach after leaving EU. The UK has relied heavily on the growth of an unexpectedly robust global economy to sustain its economic growth as British consumers are squeezed from rising inflation as a result of the depreciation of the pound since the EU vote.
