The Joint Technical Committee of OPEC and non-member states announced that new ways of assessing the surplus in crude oil inventories will be discussed later in the day.
At present, they see stockpiles almost non-existent and expect to restore the market balance in the second quarter as producers comply with production cuts.
According to some sources, the committee did not discuss the impact of US sanctions on Iran or OPEC's current deal.
