Kuroda: The current monetary policy will be maintained until inflation reaches 2%

Bank of Japan Governor Kuroda said that the current monetary policy will be maintained and control of the yield curve until inflation reaches the target of 2%. His most prominent statements were as follows:

  • The Japanese economy is expected to grow at a moderate pace.
  • Inflation is moving near 0.5% to 1%.
  • The economy supports momentum to meet the inflation target set by the Bank of Japan.
  • Japan's financial system is stable.
  • The Bank will continue its monetary easing program and control the yield curve for as long as possible until inflation reaches 2% in a stable manner.
  • Is willing to adjust the current monetary policy if circumstances so require.
  • The Bank will continue its expansionary monetary policy until inflation exceeds the 2% target consistently.
