Japan's economy minister is watching the impact of markets on economy

Japan's economy minister Motegi said today he was monitoring the impact of financial market moves that might have on the Japanese economy, following a cabinet meeting.

Motegi stressed that the fundamentals of the Japanese economy are solid due to the improved labor market and rising wages. He also said he expected that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to exchange views on North Korea this week with US Vice President Mike Pence.
