HSBC's chief executive questioned the legitimacy of dealing in digital currencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum for many reasons, including anonymity. Saying "We are still very skeptical about the digital currencies that exist in the market because of the many reasons including non-disclosure of the identity of their customers," John Flint said.

The banking system works on the basis that things are transparent, and with modern technology, large applications show the transparency of this banking system. He went on to show the reasons for skeptics when it comes to codes that have not been identified as part of a unique selling point.

The digital currency "Bitcoin" rose today, to the highest level of 11,500 dollars for the first time in about a month after a sharp fall of the currency lasted for more than two months.
