Germany's unemployment rate drops to -25K

Data released recently showed a drop in German unemployment in December by 25,000 versus expectations of -17,000. The previous reading was revised from -29A to -30K. Unemployment rates fell from 5.5% to 5.4% in line with market expectations to stabilize near historical lows.

The euro surrendered against the greenback with the greenback's recent recovery, with the EURUSD falling to 1.2434. While the EURGBP stabilized at levels of 0.8777 and the EURCHF at 1.1593.
