German economy making the biggest annual growth since 2011

During the year 2017, Germany recorded the highest annual budget surplus since the country's reunification in 1990, this came on the back of record low unemployment and low interest rates. The budget surplus was about 36.6 billion euros ($ 44.9 billion) in 2017.

This is the fourth consecutive annual surplus in Germany, which no longer has any difficulty in adhering to the European budget deficit rules, which is the fresh government borrowing does not exceed 3% of GDP.

The German economy grew by 0.6% in the last quarter of 2017, mainly due to an increase of 2.7% in exports compared to imports which rose by 2%. Over the course of 2017, the economy grew by 2.2%, the largest annual growth since 2011.
