French finance minister comments on trade between EU & US

Bruno Le Maire, French finance minister, said:

• Commenting on the Junker/Trump deal, France does not want to engage in large-scale trade negotiations.
• Agriculture must remain outside any trade negotiations.
• Non-tariff barriers are not negotiable.
• Access to public procurement markets must be part of any negotiations with the United States.
• We expect a goodwill gesture from the US side, especially on steel and aluminum tariffs.
• Any trade deal with the United States must be based on the principle of reciprocity.
