The final reading of the eurozone consumer price index confirmed a slowdown in inflation in April, with the annual consumer price index rose by 1.2% from March's 1.3%.
Also, the core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, slowed to 0.7% in April from a previous reading of 1% in March. The ECB is targeting inflation near 2%.
On the other hand, Germany's harmonized CPI rose by 1.4% in April, in line with expectations and the March reading.
