European equities rallied slightly as a rally in commodity prices eased, spurring profits from miners, although strong earnings updates boosted Ericsson, Telia.
The Eurostoxx 600 index was down by 0.2% but remained 0.5% higher for the fourth week in a row, gaining as global markets recover from the volatile first quarter. While the British FTSE Index rose by 0.5%.
Ericsson rose by 14 percent, its biggest one-day gain since October 2008, after Swedish mobile maker Mobile reported first-quarter earnings and profit margins higher than market expectations as cost savings from continuing job cuts began.
