Annual inflation in the euro zone rose by 1.4% in March, after rising by 1.1% in February, according to flash estimate CPI data. The rise follows three months of slowdown.

The core CPI, which excludes food and energy prices, rose by 1% in March, unchanged from February. Inflation figures remain below the target set by the ECB at 2%.

Sluggish of price growth is one of the challenges facing the ECB in discussions on the future of the bond buying program after more than 3 years of easing monetary policy.

On the other hand, unemployment in the euro area fell to 8.5% in February as expected, while the January reading was 8.6%.
