The European Union and China issued a joint statement for the first time since 2015, the most prominent of which was as follows:
- Committed to establishing a joint working group to work on WTO reforms.
- We agree that steel overcapacity is a global challenge.
- We welcome the exchange of market access for the investment agreement.
- We place bilateral views on the investment agreement as a top priority.
