Dombert: EZ countries still vulnerable to shocks

5 Feb 2018 01:16 PM

Andres Dombert, Bundesbank board member, made the following statement:

  • The good news is that the German banking sector has become more attractive in recent years, for example in investments in German banks in recent months.
  • Economic outlook for the euro zone is good, we see it is not less in Germany.
  • Bundesbank expects this year GDP to grow by 2.5%, in 2019 to grow by 1.7%, and in 2020 by 1.5%, and the German economy will continue to grow higher than potential.
  • We should not be tempted by the positive economic data of the Eurozone because many countries are still facing challenges.
  • The biggest challenge remains to give the monetary union a strong general structure.
