China's exports unexpectedly surged at the fastest pace in three years in February, signaling that China's economy remains resilient as trade ties with the United States deteriorate rapidly.

Chinese exports rose by 44.5 percent in February from a year earlier, stronger than market expectations of a 13.6 percent rise, while January's rise was 11.1 percent. On the other hand, imports rose by 6.3% in February against expectations by 9.7%, while imports rose by 36.9% in January.

China’s goods surplus shrank with the United States in February, but still higher than last year. China's trade surplus with the United States stood at $ 20.96 billion in February from $ 21.90 billion in January.

With global trade booming, China's exports last year grew at their fastest pace since 2013 and were one of the main drivers of economic growth of 6.9 percent.
