BoE keeps the interest unchanged

The Bank of England announced its interest rate decision a little while ago keeping the interest rates unchanged at 0.5% as expected, and as the previous meeting. the vote of the Monetary Policy Committee was 9 votes in favor of keeping them unchanged. Also, the bank kept its asset purchase program unchanged at 435 billion pounds as expected, and the decision was also unanimous.

Following the decision, sterling rallied strongly against its rivals, rising against the US dollar to its highest level since Feb. 5 at 1.4013, and rising against the Japanese yen to its highest level since Feb. 5 at 153.67. While the euro fell against the pound to reach levels of 0.8740 its lowest since the beginning of February.
