ANZ expects the New Zealand interest rate to remain unchanged

ANZ expects the Reserve Bank of New Zealand to keep interest rates unchanged at its next meeting next week at 1.75%. The Bank may maintain its cautious approach for long periods of time with a balance of risk and similar policy expectations in general, especially since the data released in February have been positive for medium-term inflation.

ANZ experts said the RBNZ may continue to be cautious until it sees an improvement in inflationary pressures. It may be the first raising of the bank in August 2019.
