Merkel: The second phase of the Brexit negotiations will be harder

18 Dec 2017 09:41 AM

German Chancellor Angela Merkel pointed out that ECB Governor Draghi told EU leaders that the euro zone economy is in a very good shape. Merkel plans to agree on a common position with France on the future of the euro zone by March.

She added that, although Draghi and EU leaders are optimistic about the region's economy in the coming period, we must also be cautious about the economic developments that will be made clear to us through economic data. In the end, Merkel clung to the Brexit file to suggest that the second phase of UK exit talks from the EU would be harder.
