The German Business Climate Index (IFO) unexpectedly fell in December to 117.2 points from 117.6 last month, expectations were to print 117.5 points. At the same time, the current business conditions improved to 125.4 points in the period compared to expectations of 124.7 and the previous reading at 124.5 points.
However, the IFO noted that the expectations of institutions and entrepreneurs over the next six months have seen some retreat from 111.0 to 109.5. Suggesting that business leaders in Europe's largest economy are less optimistic about their future.
